THE H&K GROUP TO HOST 3RD ANNUAL ROCK & ROLL RIDE FOR AUTISM Skippack, PA - The H&K Group is pleased to announce that it will once again be hosting their annual “Rock & Roll Ride for Autism.” This motorcycle road tour event is scheduled for Sunday, September 5, 2010, and features a “Ride’n to Raise Awareness” victory lap at world-renowned Pocono Raceway, who proudly joins The H&K Group in support of this event.

First held in 2008, the ride was conceived by two H&K Group employees, John Gavis and Drew Baskin, who, as motorcycle enthusiasts, saw the group riding event as a way to raise awareness and support for Autism. Gaining overwhelming backing from their employer and Pocono Raceway, the pair sought additional support from local businesses, fellow employees and friends and ultimately hosted a tremendous outing in 2008. Since this time, over 350 riders have turned out annually to participate in this Autism fundraiser.

The H&K Group’s Chief Operating Officer, James T. (“Jim”) Haines and his wife, Pam, have a son, Matthew, who was diagnosed with Autism at age three. Matthew, currently 17, has participated in the event with his parents for the past two years. Jim and Pam Haines are extremely active in the Autism community and were instrumental in founding the Sellersville, PA based Autism Support Network. This year, “Rock & Roll Ride for Autism” will benefit the Autism Society of America (ASA), Lehigh Valley Chapter, who provides critical support, advocacy and enrichment to families of children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

This year’s “Rock & Roll Ride for Autism” will depart at 9:00 a.m. on September 5, with event registration beginning at 7:00 a.m. at The H&K Group’s corporate office in Skippack, PA. Coffee and light fare will be served. From Skippack, the tour will follow approximately 85-miles of scenic roads to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA. At Pocono Raceway, riders will have the opportunity to participate in marshaled parade laps around the famous Pocono Raceway tri-oval track. Following track activities, riders will have the opportunity to enjoy track concessions, gather socially and participate in vendor-sponsored raffles in support of ASA, Lehigh Valley Chapter. The attached flyer presents specific times, locations and logistics related to this September 5th charity event.
