SKIPPACK, PA -On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Montgomery County relocated its 9/11 Memorial from the County’s Emergency Operations Center in Eagleville, PA to Elmwood Park in Norristown, PA. Haines & Kibblehouse, Inc. (H&K), in addition to more than a dozen construction businesses and unions, volunteered to transport the monument to make it more publicly accessible, and
mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
Haines and Kibblehouse, Inc. assisted by dispatching a survey team to Elmwood Park to ensure the site met proper elevation
requirements for the Memorial’s new permanent home. Centrally located, this location will display the 18-foot monument from sculptor Sassana Norton, who used an I-beam from the North Tower of the World Trade Center to honor victims and first responders of the 9/11 attacks. Commissioned by the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners in 2003, the monument was erected at the Montgomery
County Courthouse in September 2005 before its move to Eagleville campus in 2021 due to Courthouse development.
A rededication ceremony for the Memorial took place at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, in Elmwood Park, located at 1325 Harding Blvd, Norristown, PA 19401.
