The H&K Group Joins NAPA in Support of National Work Zone Awareness Week 2019

Skippack, PAH&K Group, Inc. (H&K) is proud to announce full support and endorsement of National Work Zone Awareness Week 2019 (NWZAW) which will occur during the second week of April (8th – 12th).

NWZAW is held each year at the beginning of the road construction season to spread awareness of the importance of Work Zone Safety. The event is held nationwide, and each year a state department of transportation (DOT) hosts a media kickoff event for NWZAW.

Partnering with member organization, The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA), who launched the WatchForUS (www.WatchFor.us) public awareness campaign in 2018 to promote NWZAW, H&K will build upon and reemphasize existing roadway safety training programs with its employees through the week of April 8. In addition, the company will also publish and share Work Zone Safety media through its web and social media outlets throughout the week as a means of sharing and amplifying NWZAW awareness. These efforts have all been designed to not only protect our most vital asset, our employees, but also the traveling public within H&K’s Work Zones.

As one of the Mid-Atlantic Region’s preeminent heavy civil contracting companies, H&K engages daily in construction, refurbishment and repair of the vital roadway systems that transport goods and services and connect our region, our communities and its citizens. With 2019 presenting H&K with its largest backlog of public heavy civil/highway contract work in the corporation’s history, the company is intently focused more than ever on Work Zone Safety for its employees and the traveling public within its project areas. H&K project crews, equipment and materials will work to construct and repair hundreds of miles of interstate, state and local roadway systems throughout eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware in 2019, placing workers within active roadway systems every day. Promotion and endorsement of NWZAW is one more way H&K can raise awareness and put the safety of its employees and the traveling public first.

The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) is the only trade association that exclusively represents the interests of the asphalt pavement material producer and paving contractor on the national level with Congress, government agencies, and other national trade and business organizations. NAPA supports an active research program designed to answer questions about environmental issues and to improve the quality of asphalt pavements and paving techniques used in the construction of roads, streets, highways, parking lots, airports, and environmental and recreational facilities. The Association provides technical, educational, and marketing materials and information to its members, and supplies technical information to users and specifiers of paving materials. The Association, which counts nearly 1,200 companies as its members, was founded in 1955.

Celebrating over a half-century of business excellence, H&K and The H&K Group Family of Companies provide heavy civil contracting and construction services, construction and building materials and associated ancillary services through 85 operations in three states including eastern PA, NJ and DE.  Further information on H&K Group, Inc. or The H&K Group Family of Companies may be found at www.hkgroup.com or calling 610.584.8500.
