Landis C. Deck Named 2007 Outstanding Conservation Contractor


Landis C. Deck Named  2007 Outstanding Conservation Contractor Landis C. Deck & Sons Site Contractors, an affiliate of The H&K Group Family of Companies
has been named 2007’s “Outstanding Conservation Contractor” by the Northumberland County
Conservation District (NCCD). The NCCD bases this special recognition on concern for the
protection of natural resources and the environment, a willingness to cooperate on mutual
projects and respect for the land.

Located in Bernville, PA, Landis C. Deck & Sons works closely with the Northumberland
County Conservation District (NCCD) on many projects. One specific project, known as “Site
15 Acid Mine Drainage Treatment Project,” involves the removal of iron and aluminum from
Shamokin Creek, caused by drifting from the Corbin Mine, located along Route 901 near
Ranshaw, PA. Per the NCCD, Landis C. Deck & Sons’ willingness to work with the district,
knowledge to complete the project and cooperativeness made them a primary candidate for the
award.

The award will be presented to Landis C. Deck & Sons Site Contractors at the Northumberland
County Conservation District’s annual awards banquet, being held on Thursday, March 29th in
Northumberland, PA.

Landis C. Deck was originally founded in 1964 as a small, family-owned site contracting
company. In 1998, the company was purchased by Haines & Kibblehouse, Inc. of Skippack,
Pennsylvania. Presently, Landis C. Deck & Sons Site Contractors employs 75 and operates it’s
Bernville, PA location under the guidance of General Superintendent Gary Deck. Landis C.
