Last evening, Lehigh Valley Site Contractors (LVSC) was a Merit Award Winner at Associated Builder and Contractors, Inc., Eastern PA Chapter’s (ABC’s) 25th Anniversary Merit Construction Awards of Excellence Gala held in Norristown, PA. LVSC received the coveted “Eagle Award” in ABC’s Heavy Construction, over $3 Million category.
Last evening’s Merit Award is LVSC’s and The H&K Group’s first ABC Award of Excellence “Eagle” and marks the culmination of a complex and challenging heavy civil construction project that began in September, 2013 and was completed in June, 2015. Known as the “SR1002/33 Chrin Interchange Project,” this landmark project was contracted through/constructed for owner, The Charles Chrin Companies of Easton, PA. LVSC formally submitted the project for entry into ABC’s Awards of Excellence Competition on August 14, 2015 along with many of Eastern PA’s finest contracting and construction related projects and participating ABC companies.
The completed SR1002/33 Chrin Interchange Project represents a new interchange created to accommodate Chrin Commerce Centre, a neighboring 700 acre tract of land zoned for business and industry. Located in Palmer Township and portions of Tatamy Borough, Northampton County, PA, this new interchange replaces a two-lane overpass with a six-lane bridge across Route 33, between the interchanges of Routes 191 and 248. Accompanying the bridge are new exit ramps that will make easier access for trucks to get to the distribution centers within the Chrin Commerce Centre, thereby relieving additional traffic from local roads and intersections within nearby municipalities.
