• H&K INC. RANKS IN TOP 50 BEST PLACES TO WORK IN PA |

On Tuesday evening, November 29, 2007, amidst fanfare and a crowd of over 1,100 people, Haines & Kibblehouse, Inc. (H&K) and The H&K Group Family of Companies was ranked 49th in the 2007 “Best Places to Work in PA” employee survey program. The program recognized and ranked the top 50 large- and top 50 medium-sized places to work in PA as determined from surveys taken by selected employees within each participating company. Executive Vice President, John A. Haines, graciously accepted the award on behalf of H&K. H&K was ranked within the “large” business category.
Sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal and procured by ModernThink, a strategic human resources consulting firm, this program was designed to recognize outstanding places of employment in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As a part of the program’s assessment process, company employees residing within Pennsylvania were randomly selected and asked to complete a paper survey. Surveys were received by employees, completed and returned in strict confidence to ModernThink in July of 2007.
H&K is extremely proud to have been selected as one of the “Best Places to Work in PA” based
upon employee satisfaction. Being ranked 49th within the published list of 2007 candidates is
significant in that only one other site contracting and construction materials company placed within
the top 50 “large” business category. Likewise, only two other construction-related companies
placed at all. Further review of the published list suggests that healthcare-related businesses
(accounting for as much as 20 percent of the ranked companies), banking institutions, education
institutions and insurance agencies all heavily weighed-in within the balance of the rankings.
“Finding ourselves ranked among the top high benefit-based healthcare companies and financial
institutions in the Commonwealth is extremely satisfying. The fact that our employees have
rewarded our great company with this ranking is a tremendous gift and honor to H&K,” said
Stephen M. Nelson, CFO, on the evening of the awards event.
